Meeting glossary: so captions get names right

Save people's names, product names and fixed translations for your company or just for you; captions, translations and minutes use that spelling.

Machine captions often mishear proper names: company names, product names, partners' names, industry terms. A Glossary tells XomiW these words in advance so it hears them better, keeps their translation, and spells them right in the minutes.

Two kinds of glossary

GlossaryWho sees itWho edits it
Company glossaryEveryone in the company workspaceOnly owners and admins
Your glossaryOnly youYou

Each glossary holds up to 300 terms, with up to 20 glossaries of each kind. A personal workspace has only your own glossaries.

Create and edit a glossary

Website

  1. Open Settings → Meeting glossary → Manage glossaries (or press Manage glossaries on the Start meeting screen).
  2. Press Add a glossary (or Add a company glossary if you are an admin), name it, press Create.
  3. Press Edit: add terms one by one (term, translation if any, language of the term), or Paste a list.
  4. Press Save.

Mobile app

  1. Open Account → Settings → Meeting glossary.
  2. Press Add a glossary (or Add a company glossary), name it, press Create.
  3. Tap the glossary: add terms with Add a term, or Paste a list.
  4. Press Save at the bottom of the page.

Paste a whole list

One term per line. With a translation, write term = translation, or paste two columns straight from Excel / Google Sheets:

XomiW = エクソミ
Minh Long Company = Công ty Minh Long
Osaka

XomiW skips blank lines, lines starting with #, a header row and duplicates (case insensitive). Press Save to keep them.

Using it in a meeting

On the Start meeting screen, Glossary lists the glossaries you can use, all ticked by default; untick the ones that do not apply. During that session:

  • Captions prefer the words in the glossary (and their translations).
  • Translations keep the fixed translations when the translation service supports it.
  • Minutes: when you write the minutes, XomiW spells names and products the glossary's way.

A glossary helps, it does not guarantee: still check names and numbers in the minutes. See also Live and bilingual captions.

Reports, official letters, spreadsheets, reminders: write one sentence; XomiW does it and asks before sending or deleting anything.
